Yolanda C. Torres

Yolanda Torres, a beacon of joy and love, was born on June 29, 1936, to her parents David Guzman and Cristiana Maldonado Guzman. In the midst of a large family, Yolanda was the youngest of 12 siblings: Dario Guzman, Aquilino Guzman, Modesto Guzman, Elva Diaz, Rafael Guzman, Altagracia Vargas, Celestino Guzman, Simon Guzman, Carmen Guerrerro, Elsa Guzman, Argentina Amato.

On May 22 1965, Yolanda united in marriage with her soulmate, Victor Manuel Torres Sr. Together, they embarked on a journey of love and companionship that spanned many joyful years. Yolanda’s dedication and warmth extended beyond her marriage as she became the loving mother of Jeannina and Victor along with their spouses: Carlos and Christina.

Her nurturing spirit flourished as she welcomed nine cherished grandchildren into her life, along with their spouses: Victor, Chris and Lauren, Erica, David and Jacky, Anwar, Amanda, Kristina, Yolanda, and Amani. Yolanda’s legacy of love will forever be imprinted in their hearts.

Yolanda was a force of nature, embodying qualities that endeared her to everyone she met. Her cheerfulness, determination, energy, forgiveness, friendliness, generosity, and boundless love enriched the lives of those around her. Her memory will forever inspire and remind us of the beauty that exists in kindness and compassion.

A viewing will be held at Branch Funeral home in Miller Place, NY on August 15 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. The mass and interment will follow on Wednesday August 16 at 11 am St. Luke’s R.C. Church and Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Yolanda’s presence may be physically missed, but the imprint she leaves on our hearts will continue to shine brightly.
