God Bless Fara. We will miss her and may she rest in peace. Now she will be with her husband Tom, their son Tommy and most of her family who have passed on before her. She worked very hard all of her life and helped Tom build many homes in Smithtown and the surrounding area. She was our friend.
Growing up in Smithtown, I was the Greco’s neighbor. I used to take long walks with Fara and found our walks very nice and looked forward to taking them with her. Fay also babysat me when my parents went on a cruise. I always remember Fay to be so sweet and I loved to stay at her home because I felt safe and I loved the food that she made. I would come over for a visit to get some treats and talk about what was going on in my life as a youngster. I always felt like she was another grandmother to me. My grandmother lived far away, so it was nice to have the relationship with Fay close to my home. I liked Fay and Tom’s sons room and all the neat things he could do displayed on the wall. Thinking about her now, I feel she maybe is why I take care of people now because they have so much to offer and their lives are so interesting. So sorry for your loss Phyllis. She lived a long life and was a giver in so many ways.
