Joseph Paul Labate, age 60, of Rocky Point, NY died Sunday, March 6, 2016. Joseph was born March 14, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY. He is the son of the late Daniel and Helen (DiBiasi) Labate. He was the owner of Labate Construction in Rocky Point. He is survived by his wife: Gina(Bent) Labate and his daughter: Marina Labate of Rocky Point, NY; his sister: Lorraine Labate and two brothers: Vincent Labate and Daniel Labate all of Rocky Point, NY. The funeral services will be held 8:00 pm on Friday, March 11 at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. A private cremation will follow on Saturday, March 12th. Visiting hours will be Thursday, March 10th from 7-9 PM and Friday, March 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Rocky Point Funeral Home, 603 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY. .

    I am so very saddened by the news of Joe’s passing. I have the fondest memories of you both Gina. The love you shared was one that I always admired and had dreamed of for my own life. I have not seen either one of you for years but have thought of you both so often throughout and with the fondest of memories. Joe’s smile and laugh were infectious and his heart beamed with love and compassion. I am holding you close in my prayers each day and in the middle of the night when I wake up and think of you. I am so sorry for your loss. May God keep you close to Him with much peace and joy in knowing Joe is safe, warm and smiling until we are all together again.
