Thomas Steven Mongiello was born on October 6th 1976 to his loving parents Frank and Patricia. Thomas was raised in Holtsville were he attended Sachem High School and was a varsity wrestler. He went on to attend Oswego State to earn his teaching degree. While at Oswego he continued wrestling and also took up rugby. After college Tom began teaching math at Sachem and this is where he met his wife Dorene. Tom and Dorene raised two beautiful children, Maggie and Leo, and Tom was so proud of the amazing adults that they were becoming. Thomas passed peacefully and comfortably after a long battle with cancer at the Kanas Hospice Center on September 19th. Thomas is survived by his wonderful parents Frank and Patricia, his wife Dorene and children Maggie and Leo, his brother Kevin and sister Tricia, and his loving second family, the O’Hara’s, who treated him as their own and loved him dearly.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to East End Hospice.
